Cocoa is a 34-lb., 6-month-old female hound mix that is sweet as can be. Cocoa is dog, cat and kid friendly. She loves everyone she meets and hasn’t met a stranger yet. Cocoa loves cuddling with her people, and sleeps well throughout the night. She enjoys bones, toys, car rides, day care, or just lounging on the couch. She is crate trained and mostly housebroken, but will benefit by someone who is home to take her out every 3-4 hours and continue her training. She is still learning her leash skills and does pull a bit so her adopter will need to continue to work with her on that. Cocoa was hit by a car as a young puppy and had to have surgery to repair her fractured legs. She has screws in her front leg that helped fix a fracture, but since they are at her growth plate, she may end up with one front leg shorter than the other. But she doesn’t let that stop her or slow her down. She loves to run around with her foster siblings. She would do best in a home that offers an opportunity to play with other dogs and continue her socialization, and has a secure fenced-in yard. If you live in the Central Florida area and think your home would be a good fit for Cocoa, please let us know more about your family in your adoption application.
