My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Wally was found as a stray in horrible condition.  We will never know his story before becoming a Diamond, but we will make sure the rest of his story is one full of love, healing and happiness.

Wally has been learning what it is like to be a dog.  He did not know what to do with toys when he first arrived, but now plays with toys but isn't always sure what to do with them.  He is full of love and snuggles but also likes his space.  Everything is new to him and he gets scared very easy.  Wally needs to build up his confidence and know that no one will ever hurt him again. Wally would do best in a quiet home since he does get frightened easily.

This handsome boy walks well on a leash and looks forward to his daily walks.  He is working on potty training and is so smart we know he will have it all figured out in no time.  He is very, very food motivated and that is always a positive to help with training and direction.  He would be such a fun companion for someone that wants to do dog agility, tricks, training, etc - he will master it all!

Please fill out an application if you would like to have a volunteer contact you so you can learn more about adopting Wally!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet. Why we do it: 4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States. That is 300,000 a month Over 11,000 each day Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
