My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At the age of 6, Dorothy was owner surrendered to a high kill shelter in San Antonio. With only hours left to spare her life, Addicus and her foster swooped in to save her. She was severely malnourished and suffered complications from her emaciation. Her foster saved her life that day when they took her to a family vet to assess her condition and treat her. By the next day, she was ready to go home and start her life over.

And this she has.

Dorothy is a people's pup. It only takes walking past her or glancing at her to get a tail wag. She's by her foster's side always and loves going for a ride to meet new people at the local coffee shop or bookstore.

This girl loves kids too. She's shown nothing but kindness towards her foster's 2, 4 and 6 year old grandchildren and at her new healthy weight of 35 pounds, she's easy to pack around.

Dorothy doesn't play much with her current dog friends, she's quite content with the company of a person over a dog but would pair with most calm dogs because of her submissive demeanor. She's what we like to describe as a "soft spoken" soul who is predictable and obedient.

They say you only get one life to live but Dorothy has broken this rule with getting 2 lives and a second chance at knowing what dogs were truly meant for; to be our companions and extension of our family. We'd love to see her be an extension of yours.
