Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cheech is a handsome 1-1/2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on January 1, 2022 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who picked him up on Second Street in New Matamoras Ohio. Cheech was accompanied by a smaller male Pit Bull Terrier (none other than Chong). Neither of the boys were wearing collars, and they were not microchipped .. So we hope that their family or friends will recognize them and know that they are safely in our shelter.
Cheech has a pale brown-and-gray short smooth coat in a brindle pattern, a large patch of white on his chest, white paws, a long tail, and an adorable chubby face with brown 'teddy bear' eyes, a blue/gray nose, and short semi-erect ears.
Cheech has a friendly easygoing personality and quickly responded to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard's gentle touch when she accompanied him outdoors for photos on a cold damp afternoon on January 2nd.
Cheech weighs 51 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Cheech will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
Since Cheech was not reclaimed, he was neutered on January 31, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine.
UPDATE: Cheech was adopted on February 25, 2022 but was brought back to our shelter on July 9, 2022 by his tearful owner because a new landlord would not allow Cheech to stay in the rental property.
Cheech's owner told us that this sweet boy is good with children, cats, and other dogs. He is crate trained and housebroken. Cheech weighs 47.2 lbs.
