My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie is a beautiful 2-1/2 year old female Boxer mix who was brought to the HSOV on May 5, 2024 by an individual who found her between Macksburg and Marietta Ohio (exact location is unknown). Sadie was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

This sweet little lady has a tan/brown-and-white short smooth coat, a short tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her short white muzzle, and large semi-erect ears.

Sadie has a friendly, easygoing personality and posed perfectly for her glamour photos when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied her outdoors on the afternoon of May 7th. Sadie is an easy dog to love, and Emily gave her the attention/loving that Sadie wanted (just as Emily gives all of the shelter dogs who are entrusted to her care).

Sadie weighs 50 lbs and isn't a very large dog when you see her in person.

Sadie might possibly have suffered an injury to her left front leg/paw at one time in her life (or perhaps a birth defect) since the joint in that leg appears to be dislocated and her left paw is 'twisted'.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Sadie was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership .. But nobody called or came looking for her.

Sadie went home with a foster family on June 25, 2024 who planned to adopt her after she was spayed.

Unfortunately Sadie was returned to HSOV on November 14, 2025 because her foster family was relocating and couldn't have dogs in the new location. This sweet girl would love to be back in another loving home asap.. After enjoying the freedom of a real home environment for nearly 1-1/2 years, this is going to be a sad emotional letdown for Sadie.

Sadie is good with other dogs as well as children.
