Christian was rescued from the Austin City Pound in Dec, 2021 when he was due to be killed because his previous owner did not come to claim him. Christian is a very nice, gentle guy of about 4 years old as of 2023. Here at MCHS he has, however, shown that he does not like other cats. He has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV, is now neutered and is current on shots and dewormings. He will be adopted as an indoor only cat. The adoption fee is $50. A pet carrier is required at the time of adoption and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS. To meet Christian or any of our other cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online adoption form. We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
