If you are looking for one classy guy, then Ron Burgundy just might be your man. Ron was hit by a car and ended up at the shelter with a badly broken back leg. Because he is such a huge man-hunk, the shelter was concerned about amputating his leg, and they didn't have the ability to repair it. Luckily for Ron, we had foster space and our excellent vet was able to repair it. Because Ron is an older guy (10+?), to repair the fracture took surgery, a pin and about 5 months to heal, followed by a little more crate rest. Now Ron is fully healed and ready to make a home his castle. Ron is quite a character - large and in charge!! He loves food, especially canned (as is obvious from his size). He co-exists with other cats but doesn't really need them for friends. He also co-exists with the dogs in his foster home, but has has little patience for their nonsense and will swipe at them to make sure they understand he is not to be bothered! He has confiscated one of the large elevated dogs beds as his own - no wimpy little cat beds will do for him! Ron has a little hitch in his step and is not much of a jumper any more, but is pretty happy to have some human companionship and an all you can eat buffet. After spending years on the tough streets of Phoenix, Ron would most enjoy a more quiet home, without small children and a lot of commotion to interrupt his beauty sleep.
