My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buster
Sometimes a cat can`t catch a break. You may remember me from my time at HSHC in 2022. My owner had died, and I was brought to the shelter. I was adopted three months later. But imagine my surprise when my owner `rehomed` me three times, and finally, I was abandoned at the Southside Animal Shelter. Since I was adopted from Hamilton County, of course, they welcomed me back. I am now 4-years, 10-months old, and being back has been a bit stressful. I tend to be shy and reserved until I feel comfortable with new people or situations. I am petite, around 7 pounds, already spayed, and a faithful litterbox user. Despite my name sounding like a boy`s name, I am a brown-and-black tabby girl. The shelter staff felt I would do well at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC), and it has been a lovely place to stay. In the past, I have lived with cats, dogs, and young kids, so I am pretty flexible about roommates. Once I feel comfortable, I love to play! Laser pointers are one of my favorites. Give me plenty of time to become accustomed to you and your home, and I know we will be best buds. And feel free to give me a more feminine-sounding name. 11-24-25

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
