Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yes indeedy, Hattie Munchkin's not only adorable, she's adoptable. She's searching for a forever home where she will continue to be loved and spoiled. She suffered serious neglect for quite some time before she made her way to rescue, in horrible condition, and with it being discovered during her vetting that at some point in her life she suffered 3 fractured ribs, one has to wonder how that happened and what other trauma/injuries she endured and if she was taken to a vet. She will show her teeth as a warning, and if ignored, will snap, hence no kids.
Hattie Munchkin is a pretty chill pup with a lower activity level. Shorter walks and some playtime when she wants will do her just fine. She does have a bit of arthritis that acts up from time to time. No kids for Hattie. She's fine with other dogs as long as they don't bother her so likely calmer older dogs will be ok. Hattie really enjoys being petted and likes to be around her person/people. She's not a jumper other than on a rare occasion so she needs picked up to be put on and off couches and beds.
She has a few quirks, such as her preferring to eat off of paper plates or even paper towels, though that's most likely due to her mouth. She is guessed to be in the 8-10 years young range. She will also need to be groomed on a regular basis.
She had seemingly been through a whole lot of bad stuff with no one to care for her (or care for her properly) before making her way to rescue so lots of love and great care should always be first and foremost for this adorable sweetheart, with patience and understanding.
Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.
