This is Charlie! And just look at those cute ears! Charlie is a 1-2 year old Shepherd/Husky mix new to the H-E-A-R-T program. We don't know anything about his past because he was a stray. But he's a super smart, happy guy. Charlie plays well with other dogs but prefers females. He would be okay in a home as an only dog. He'd like a forever home with fenced yard. Charlie is neutered, vaccinated and healthy. He's being fostered in NC but can be transported for the right family! Adoption area NJ to NC. www.huskyrescueteam.org

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
