My story

Sweet Banjo is an absolutely adorable, but VERY shy boy who just wants to feel safe. Sadly, he came from an outdoor chicken coop and was not socialized with humans. He appears to be deaf, so startles easily if he doesn't see you coming. He does take treats out of our hands, but does NOT enjoy being touched. We hope this will get better once he's settled in a permanent home and gets adjusted to his new life, but so far, he has not progressed much in his foster home. He does live with a cat and dogs who essentially leave him alone, so he's fine with them. He has good litter box habits and loves to chew his cardboard box house. He seems interested in neighboring rabbits in his foster home, but when introduced to potential bonding companions, he's been pretty terrified. Banjo will need a home with a very patient caregiver and possibly a very laid-back, gentle companion rabbit.

More about this rescue

Lucky Bunny Rabbit Rescue is an entirely volunteer-run organization founded in 2009. Our mission is to support the Animal Friends of the Valleys shelter in Wildomar, CA by providing food, supplies and adoption support to abandoned and homeless rabbits in Southwest Riverside County. In addition, we provide education to the general public about house rabbits and their care.
