My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*SCGPR is foster based, please check our main page for a complete list of all our adoptable pigs. We can transport any piggies (all expenses paid) to meet approved adopters anywhere in Southern California.

Meet Lil Red & Buster!! Our longest residents! These boys have been with us for 2 years!

The boys were taken in by the rescue after we got a call that they were living outside during summer with temps at 100 degrees. We couldn’t let them suffer and so our team jumped in to take them in.

Lil Red and Buster have come a very long way since we first took them in. They finally realize that humans are kind and bring treats.

We think these boys would do well in a home with older, more calm children.
They also will need to have a nice large cage, either 2x5 grid c&c or double midwest with an extension. They can get a little snippy with each other in smaller spaces.

We can help you with cage needs and can even make the appropriate cage for the boys if you would like us to, just ask!

They are great boys. They are curious and mellow lap pigs. The previous owner also had a 12-year old who handled them and would put costumes on them and brush their hair and play with them so they are very easy going.

All of our SCGPR piggies are fostered in OC, LA and Ventura Counties. If you are interested in any of our adoptable guinea pigs we will meet you in any of the above mentioned counties! We transport to adopters on a regular basis!

More about this rescue

Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue (SCGPR) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of neglected, abandoned, and at-risk Guinea Pigs.

Our adoptable Guinea Pigs are cared for in homes by foster volunteers and our organization operates entirely on donations.

Our network spans the whole of Southern California and we work to serve every community throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

We have over 30 years of combined experience working in Guinea Pig rescue and our goal is simple, save as many Guinea Pigs as possible, and place them into loving, permanent homes. We are passionate, small but mighty!
