My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Marshall!

He is a 5 year old Pit Bull mix who weighs 50 pounds. Marshall is an energetic and goofy pup who absolutely loves to play! He is eager to go on his walks every day and loves to run around outside whenever he gets the chance. The second you walk in the door he is ready to jump up and give you a big kiss! After a busy day of activity, he is ready to jump on your lap to snuggle on the couch or lay down for a nap in his dog bed. With a slow introduction Marshall does well with most dogs, but they better be ready to play! If there are children in his forever home, they need to be ages 10 and older. He is a bubbly and outgoing pup who can't wait to find his new family.

If Marshall looks too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
