Additional adoption info

The first step to adoption is filling out the adoption application. I also check references and do home visits prior to any adoption.Once approved I will try to match the perfect dog for your family. I also have an adoption contract that must be signed to finalize any adoption.

More about this rescue

I moved to Colorado in 2006 to rescue "Pit Bull" type dogs. Peanut's Place is a tribute to my first Pit Bull. Because of her I fell in love with these breeds.Peanut passed on in April 2007 from complications of Cushing's Disease at the young age of 5-1/2. I saw a need to save such misunderstood dogs. I try to educate people about Pit Bull type dogs. They're not the killing machines the media portrays them as. They are loving, devoted companions.Sure they're high energy, but what do you expect from a breed that has "Terrier" as their last name? There is no such thing as a "bad dog". There are only BAD OWNERS .
We're always in need of monetary donations to pay the Vet bills. Dry dog food donations are always welcome.
Volunteers to walk the dogs and interact with them is high on our "Wish List". Please feel free to email me if you would like to help.
