My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Lexus, the beautiful and resilient cat who has overcome tremendous challenges in her life. After living on the streets and having multiple litters of kittens, Lexus was left to fend for herself when she was pregnant again. Thankfully, a kind person drove all the way from another state to rescue her, but unfortunately, Lexus went into labor on the way home and had to be rushed to the nearest vet.

Despite all she's been through, Lexus remains a sweet and gentle cat who just needs a little time to warm up to new people. She's also a bit of a boss with other cats, but who can blame her? After all she's been through, she deserves to be the queen of her castle! And with her unique and exotic appearance, thanks to her amputated tail, Lexus is sure to turn heads wherever she goes.

If you're looking for a low-maintenance cat who still craves love and attention, Lexus is the perfect match for you. She's polite when asking for pets and snuggles, and is happy to entertain herself when you're busy. Don't miss out on the chance to give this resilient kitty the loving home she deserves. And if you can't adopt or foster, consider donating much-needed supplies to the pet rescue organization to help other pets like Lexus get a second chance at a happy life. Adopt, foster, donate - let's make a difference together!

More about this shelter

Who We Are:

HELP Humane: HELP Humane Inc. is a non-profit organization currently run by a small group of animal lovers in Cass County, MO (just south of Kansas City).

All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been Feluk/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative.

HELP now has a no-kill shelter. HELP does not take in any owner relinquished animals. HELP rescues stray dogs and cats from the streets. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting form us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP feels that ALL animal’s are worth saving. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home.

Currently we are in a financial crisis and desperately need more funding to continue our mission. We are also currently in need of foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more pets we can help. We also need more volunteers and a grant writer. Of course donations of money and/or pet supplies are most helpful.

Our regular monthly meetings are at 7:00pm, the 1st Tuesday of each month. At our Shelter at 17122 Bel Ray Place, Belton, MO 64012.
