My story

For The Cats' Sake

MEET SIMONE:  Simone is a fantastic young mama from last kitten season that is looking for her own fur-ever home before the next kitten season starts.  At only 1 ½ years old, Simone is one special mama.  As is typical, Simone’s 6 adorable kittens have all been adopted before her and now this sweetheart is looking for a family of her own.

Simone is a lovely, low-maintenance companion.  She loves getting pets and snuggling with you on the couch but is not demanding of attention. As a classy kitty should, she has a lovely meow, a shiny black coat and a white star on her chest for just a touch of sparkle. Simone has had a tough life until recently, but she’s so affectionate you would never know it. She’s looking for a low-medium energy forever home that will provide her with the cuddles, kibbles, and love she deserves.

If you are interested in meeting/adopting this true lady, please complete the following form:  TO ADOPT “SIMONE”:    https://jotform.com/81848821130152

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend at least $125 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask that you cover as much of the $125 as you can afford, and set a minimum donation at $50. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an application which includes vet references and landlord permission for renters. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the cats/kittens in their foster homes so they see them in a comfortable situation. In many instances a volunteer will deliver the cat/kitten to their new home to assist the family in preparing their home getting the adoption off to a good start. There are no set fees, we request a donation.

More about this rescue

For The Cats' Sake was founded in 2014 in response to a need for TNR in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Since that time, we have encountered many situations where there is no place for the cats to be returned. In other instances the cats are friendly or there are momma cats too pregnant to be spayed, or young kittens that are adoptable, but need socialization and foster care. Currently we have about 40 cats and kittens in foster care being prepared for adoption. All felines are Up to Date on vaccinations and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Depending on age at time of adoption, they are also Spayed/Neutered.
