My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brighten your winter days with Daisy!

As snow blankets the ground and the world grows quieter, Daisy is ready to bring warmth and gentle comfort into your home. With a heart as soft as freshly fallen snow, this little flower has been slowly blooming since her rescue. Though she began as a shy wallflower, Daisy has started to open up and show her curious, playful side during her time with EHS. It still may take her some time to warm up to new people and surroundings, but like any autumn bloom, Daisy just needs patience and a caring family to help her thrive.

ABOUT DAISY
- At shelter
- Daisy`s favourite pastimes are relaxing in quiet solitude (often buried in a warm pile of blankets) or watching her feline neighbours in the next kennel.
- Daisy also likes to observe people, especially from a distance. She`s been caught spying from the safety of her cubby or on top of her cat tree, watching the activity outside her kennel. She`s a little watcher.
- She is often curious enough to come to the front of her kennel to investigate visitors, though she will retreat back to her bunk if someone approaches too closely.
- Ever-curious, Daisy believes she`s an explorer. Whether in her previous foster home or now in our cozy shelter, she is quite the sleuth and loves to go snooping when she thinks no one is watching!
- She`s also been known to sniff feet (just making sure they`re clean!) when investigating new people.
- Daisy is gradually blooming in EHS`s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers have been working to help her feel more confident around people.
- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.
- Daisy will show her affectionate side when she receives scratches from the back-scratcher. She enjoys gentle scratches on the side of her face and she has a sweet spot under her chin that feels really good. She may even doze off with her head resting on the back-scratcher! She`s not yet comfortable being pet by hand.
- A slow approach with a back-scratcher is just the ticket to get closer to her, and she`s easily swayed by tasty treats, too!
- We have discovered that Daisy has a lovely playful side, and wand toys are particularly helpful for engaging with her and building her trust and confidence. (She may even flash some belly!)
- Daisy has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which will need to be managed with lifelong, daily medication a
