My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Redmond and you've probably noticed that I am a handsome ginger gentleman. I enjoy the finer things in life - give me a good pet, and I will lean my whole body into it. However, I do get over stimulated and scared sometimes and will smack you if you pet me too long, so please be careful and make sure I am comfortable. I was very sick and had fleas when I was surrendered to a TNR program when I was younger and was not being taken care of very well, so my trust in humans is limited until I get to know you. The shelter staff has been working with me and has me a lot friendlier! However, I still need some more work and that is really hard to do in a shelter setting and much easier at a home. I have never had a family of my own, but I would love one! If you have a kid free house (or older kids that will give me my space), please consider adopting me. The staff believes I could be the best boy, if I just had a proper home and someone that could put more time into building trust with me and showing me that not all humans are bad. Will you be my hero??

More about this shelter

We are a private non-profit limited intake no kill shelter that has been serving the county since 1978. We try to take in and care for as many animals as our small shelter can handle. We are an adoption center and not to be confused with Animal Control. We cannot pick up stray animals, that has to be done by the county. Thank you and we look forward to adopting out to you!
