Skitzer is not for a first time kitty owner, her life started out very rough. She was found as a stray around 3 months old weighing in at less than 2lbs. Someone did not treat her well. She is extremely skittish and wary. While she will eventually warm up, she is not an easy cat to build trust with. You must have patience. When she goes to a new home, she will run and hide and do everything she can possibly do to avoid you. Honestly, it would be best to keep her in a separate room until she learns that you are ok.If you want a cat that is instantly calm and easy to please, this is not the cat for you. However, once you build that trust and relationship with her, she is a sweet, affectionate, cuddly cat. She will groom you, make biscuits and follow you around. She loves to snuggle up on your chest and relax. She is currently on anxiety medication and we're hoping that will help calm her down. What she needs to truly thrive is a quiet household. She is currently with other cats, but she is the low man on the totem pole, so no cats would be best. She is pushed around and bullied, so she hides. She may do well with a super calm, cat savvy dog. She does well with ours, but they leave her be and do not chase her. She would do best with no young children as their sudden movements and loud noises scare her.If you think you can open your heart and give her patience and a calm, loving home, please reach out.
Skitzer's adoption donation is $75 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, spay and microchip.
