My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you missed out on adopting Lorenzo, you still have another chance at a doxie… meet Louis!
This 9 year old tweenie-sized smooth red Dachshund was surrendered when his owner passed away. He has that determined stubborn doxie spirit that only a true dachshund lover could appreciate and needs an experienced adult home. He will have his moments when he wants to be left alone- when eating especially don’t mess with him. He was not a fan of the vet either, and while he doesn’t seem to mind meeting other dogs, doesn’t like sharing his people and stuff with them so is best living as an only pet.

Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Louis

Due to COVID-19, we will not be holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we can schedule socially distant appointments with a specific dog outdoors at our vetâ??s office: VCA Morris Plains Animal Hospital 3009 Rt 10 East Morris Plains (Denville on GPS) NJ 07950 Now is the perfect time to open your home to a needy dog! Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We request that adopters fill out a pre-adoption application either in person at our adoption day or through our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com. This helps us make sure the animal's personality is a good match for your household. Adoption fees vary according to the dog's age, breed, adoptability, and how much we have had to spend in vet bill on them. Adopters sign a contract at the time of adoption, and the animal must come back to us if they do not work out in the home.
