Rescue FAQs

We a small group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing as many homeless dogs as we can and keeping them happy and healthy in foster homes until they are adopted. We specialize in small breed dogs, especially seniors, from local shelters, homes that can’t keep them, puppy mills, and hoarding situations.
We are a small non-profit all-volunteer foster group. We rescue our dogs/puppies from local shelter, and occasionally take in owner surrenders or rescue dogs from breeders/puppy mills.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Email njwoof@cs.com for an application and to schedule a meeting by appointment with one or more of our dogs.
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. We will email you if your application is a fit to schedule a meeting. Our dogs are all in foster care, meets by appointment only
  3. Take the Pet Home
    1. We typically schedule meetings in Oakland, NJ or Morris Plains, NJ depending on the day

Additional adoption info

We request that adopters fill out a pre-adoption application either on our website. This helps us make sure the animal's personality is a good match for your household. Adoption fees vary according to the dog's age, breed, adoptability, and how much we have had to spend in vet bill on them. Adopters sign a contract at the time of adoption, and the animal must come back to us if they do not work out in the home.
