Hey there, it’s Apricot—the “Mysteriously Timid Toothless Wonder” reporting in with a heart full of quirks and quiet charm!
That’s right, I might be a bit shy at first, but I’ve learned to rock it like a true original. Life threw me a curveball when I lost most of my teeth due to an infection, but trust me—it hasn’t put the slightest dent in my mysterious allure or my ability to enjoy the finer things (like soft food!).
I’m not your average lap cat. I march to the beat of my own drum and accept affection on my terms—unless food is involved, of course. Then, well... let’s just say I become a bit of a needy baby. I know what I want and when I want it, and I’m not shy about letting you know when my snack cravings hit.
You may not find me curled up in your lap, but I’ll be close by, quietly observing with soulful eyes and a soft presence. My idea of bliss? A sunbeam to stretch out in, a cozy corner to snooze in, and a kind human who understands that love doesn’t always mean clinginess.
What I’m looking for is someone who gets me—who respects my space, cherishes my quirks, and appreciates a slow-blooming bond. In return, I’ll be your loyal, enchanting companion with a purr that’s worth the wait.
So spread the word: Apricot, the one-of-a-kind, toothless sweetheart with mysterious charm (and a soft spot for snacks), is ready for her forever match. Let’s write the next chapter of our love story together.

Who We Are
Bailey's Human Rescue, Incorporated (BHR) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation based in Johnston County, North Carolina. BHR has established the first Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program in Johnston County, and provides a pet pantry for pet owners that need a little help. Through these programs, and community education, we hope to reduce the number of domesticated animals that meet an untimely end simply because they exist.
What We Believe
Bailey's Human Rescue was founded on the view that we, as humans, are responsible for the domesticated animal overpopulation crisis that we are faced with today. Humans chose to domesticate these animals, and humans have failed to manage their populations properly. It is inhumane for us to exterminate the animals we created and managed so poorly simply because it is the quickest option. If we work together, and chose humane methods, it is possible to end this crisis without causing unnecessary harm to these animals.
