My story

Meet Hickory! He is a male German Shepherd /Rottweiler mix born November 1, 2021. Hickory is a typical puppy either playing or snuggling up with his people. He is learning the ropes in his foster home to be the best dog he can be including potty and crate training. We are seeking a family that will continue to train and help him become a good canine citizen. Full grown Hickory will be on the extra large size, we are looking for a home with breed experience. His ideal home would be one where his people are not gone for long periods of time during the day, and one where he has at least one other canine companion. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
