My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bart! Born March 2022, he is a male (best guess) Blackmouth Cur mix. This sweet boy had an accident and found himself needing a rear leg amputation.
His family couldn’t take care of him and so he ended up with Mikeys Chance.
Bart is crate trained and housebroken.
He’s a great snuggle companion-although he doesn’t always realize his size 😂
His favorite thing in life is to be as close to his human as possible - if you adopt Bart, you will NEVER be alone again.
Bart is good with the dogs in his foster home, he does need a slower introduction to new dogs-he’s lived a pretty isolated life before his accident.
Three legs do not slow this guy down, he’s up for adventure! He would make a great solo dog or in a home with another canine companion. Cats are an unknown. We always recommend children over age 5 who can understand and be respectful of a dogs need for space at times. He will also require a securely fenced yard. If you or anyone you know is looking for a forever companion Bart may be your boy! Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

Go meet their pets

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

To find out about these and our other events check us out on Facebook or at our website at MikeysChance.com.

More about this rescue

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
