My name is Ruby. I'm a sweet, two-year-old girl who is 10 lbs. and loves to play and nap. Since I am pretty young, I still like to play like a kitten. I would really like a kitty friend to play with and enjoy being near my human, just not getting picked up, since I am just a bit timid. She's timid with new people but gets along well with other cats and actually needs a cat companion to show her who is safe. As soon as she sees other cats getting attention, see comes running up. Her personality seemed to change after her last Vet appointment. I've had her since she was a kitten. She loves pets and head scratches and will lay next to you but doesn't really like being picked up. She's very bonded with my old cat, Tom. They seem to be together quite often. So if you have a neutered male and promise to keep her indoors, she would be happy. She could do well with a female too. Doesn’t seem to like dogs but if she has a safe space away from them, it's not a problem. A quiet home without young children would be best because of her shyness. My favorite thing about her is her thick fur. She's soft like a bunny. Her nickname is That could change as I grow! Will you be my HERO? Fill out an application today!March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Additional adoption info
All of our animals come fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Puppies and kittens will be spayed/neutered and have all shots when they are old enough. There is an Adoption application, a quick phone interview to make sure it is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog, then a home check, and an adoption contract. We ask for a $400 donation for adult dogs, and $500 for puppies at the time of adoption so that we can save other dogs from the shelter. The first step is to fill out an app here: https://thelittlereddog.org/dog-adoption-forms

More about this rescue
The Little Red Dog (TLRD) passionately transforms canine lives through holistic rehabilitation, education, and community outreach. Since 2011, the mission for our nonprofit has been clear: rescue, educate, find homes, and assist the people in our community who are in need. By advocating for comprehensive behavioral understanding, and assistance to the community, we strive to reduce animal cruelty, and the number of animals being surrendered to the shelter, thereby eradicating euthanasia and fostering a world where humans and dogs thrive together, and all humans and animals are free from discrimination. Through our efforts, we address both immediate needs and underlying issues. We envision a world where every dog, regardless of its past, has a loving future, and where canines and humans always feel included and appreciated. We are on a mission from dog!
