My story

Kermit is very playful and he loves to swat around his mice toys. He is a curious, sweet and adorable little curmudgeon. Think typical teenager: you'll be a hero one minute and then he is convinced you are trying to make his life miserable. Thankfully, all it takes is a treat or a toy to make you a hero again!

Kermit spent the first few months in rescue recovering from some of the health issues he endured due to the hoarding situation he was in.    A neighbor alerted us to a large group of cats that he was seeing come and go from a house whose occupant had recently been evicted. The house was left in shambles, filled with cages and carriers and the cats were left to fend for themselves.

Many of the cats had parasites and umbilical hernias - that have all been addressed. Now, they are looking for a loving home where they can live out their lives the way they should - comfortable and safe.

We estimate Kermit's birthdate to be 04/21/21. He's small still, but gaining weight and filling out so nicely. He should be kept on the high fiber triumph turkey flavor wet food with supplements.

Our required adoption donation is $150 per kitten or $125 per cat (older than 9 months). All our rescues are up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm. They are dewormed, treated for parasites and free of fleas. Each is spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination.

An application must be completed to be considered to adopt from Stray HELP. You can download it from HERE OR directly ONLINE If your application is approved we conduct a home visit for final approval of adoption. To view more pictures of cats and kittens in our program visit us on FaceBook.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and care for stray and homeless animals while providing humane education to the community.
We work with members of the community to help cats in need. We conduct trap/neuter/return and place projects and train home and business owners on how to properly care for free roaming cats on their property and in their neighborhoods.
We focus in southern Dutchess County, but help people throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties by connecting them with local rescues that can work with them, loaning equipment, coordinating spay/neuter clinics and offering guidance.
