"I love this girl! She will make you smile every day with her silly faces and antics. My hope for her is to find a home where she can enjoy the outdoors (and maybe chirp at a few squirrel friends)." -- Laryssa (Foster Mom)
Oprah is the sassiest little girl that will snuggle next to you on the sofa, snooze at your feet while you work, chase squirrels in the yard, bring you toys for tug, and hike quiet trails.
Loves: Chasing squirrels (a love-hate relationship), snuggling, playing tug, sleeping close, chewing on antlers, and going for walks.
Smarts: Sit, down, place, wait for meals, housetrained, crate trained, leave it, and wait for invitations onto furniture (most of the time).
Dog & Cat Siblings: Given she prefers her humans over dogs, she would be happy to be your only pup. She can be sassy and loud when first meeting new dogs, so a new fur sibling would need to roll with a bossy lady during their first intro. She has lived with a cat or two, so she would just need a slow intro to a new kitty sibling.
New Family: They should be patient, low-key, and willing to go slow. It can take her time to trust, but you'll know you're a friend when she puts her head on your lap and her paw in your hand. She is wary of strangers so she would do best with adult parents and older teens. A home with a yard where she can sunbathe and chase critters would be perfect. Or she would enjoy an apartment where she can go for walks during low-squirrel-sighting times. ;) If a car ride to get a puppuccino or to find a quiet place for a walk is your thing, she'll nestle herself perfectly between the seats!
