Hello, I'm Prince Zuko, and I may just be the most unique-looking pup you've ever seen! With a blend of various breeds in my DNA, my adorable little paws might just have a touch of basset in them. At 2 years old, I'm a charming bundle of personality packed into a compact frame, eager to find a loving home.

I've been having a blast participating in nose work and agility classes, and I can't wait to continue exploring the world with my new family. To keep me entertained, I'll just need a few toys to keep my curious mind engaged.

I'd prefer to be the sole fur baby in the house. You see, I'm the kind of mutt who's looking for an exclusive bond with my very own people. And if there are kids in the household, I'd be most comfortable with those who are 10 years or older.

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
