My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Romi!
Romi is a 3 year old Shar Pei mix with quite possibly the cutest set of ears you'll ever see! This social butterfly loves to meet new people. Romi is crate trained, house trained, and travels well in the car. She lived with children in her last home and loved all of them!
"Romi has been a great dog to foster through Animal Friends Humane Society. She loves everyone and wants to meet everybody. She loves a short easy game of tug rope and watching the neighborhood from the back rear sliding window in the sun. We call her Tender-Romi, since she has such a tender and sweet personality. She is very photogenic and is easy to give a bath too. Romi enjoys giving affection and cuddling, while also having time to herself. Your heart will melt by her welcoming you home with a leaning paw lift. She will make a great addition to any family who would adopt her."

Romi does like being the queen of her castle and must be the only pet in the home, but don't let that stop you! She will bring a smile to your face and she will melt your heart when you first meet her.

More about this shelter

Our mission is to promote humane principles, protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for animals in our communities.

Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is the only open- admission shelter in Butler County, Ohio. In 2009, AFHS relocated from its outdated facility in Trenton and now occupies a 22,500 sq. foot facility with top-notch amenities for its shelter population in Hamilton, Ohio. By adopting nationally recognized best practices for animal shelters, AFHS has been successful in increasing its overall save rate and hit a record high of 94% in 2020. Assisting over 5,000 pets each year, AFHS is committed to providing individual care to local pets in need. As Butler County’s largest and oldest 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter, AFHS is always in need of community support to continue its lifesaving mission. Adopt, Volunteer, Donate to help save more lives!
