My story

Kali is a young adult female Campbell's Russian Dwarf hamster who was rescued on 1/23/22. She came from a very poor situation and unfortunately she is now extremely fearful and distrustful of human hands. She has a ton of personality and is a very funny girl, however she is a look-and-don't-touch hamster who would not be a safe companion for children but would be best suited for an experienced owner. Like all hamsters, Kali is happiest living alone.

Kali has been with us for a few months now and has made progress, even beginning to accept treats from fingers. She is looking for an experienced and patient adopter who can keep working with her.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption and applications can be found in the link to our linktree or, if you prefer, you can email us at small.paws.safe.space@gmail.com and we will be happy to send the application to you.

Once you return the completed application to us we will contact you to conduct an interview. You will then have an opportunity to come meet the pets you are interested in adopting. If the meeting goes well and the pet is a good fit for your family we will sign the adoption contract and the nonrefundable adoption fee will be due at that time.

Please note that Small Pet Safe House has a strict policy that bonded animals will not be separated and must be adopted together.

More about this rescue

We are a brand new small pet rescue located in Sachse, Texas.

We provide a safe and caring environment for hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and some reptiles most of the time and, though they are less common in our area, chinchillas, degus, rabbits, hedgehogs, and sugar gliders as well.

Our mission is to save animals in need, provide a safe place for families who need to rehome their pets, and spread knowledge about proper small pet care to the members of the communities we serve.
