My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a fun, active dog who loves going on new adventures? Then look no further than Jake! Jake is an almost 4-year-old, 35-lb. possible lab/terrier mix. He is a great companion and loves to be near his people but is not demanding about attention. He gets along great with all people, including kids. He is curious about his foster family's cat and wants to get to know her but does not try to chase. This adorable guy walks great on a leash and enjoys going on both walks and car rides. Jake is dog friendly and even submissive when meeting other dogs. Jake knows the command “sit” and is completely house trained. He does jump when excited so he could benefit from additional training. He has been sleeping in his foster mom’s room and loves a comfy dog bed. Once settled in for the night, Jake will sleep soundly through the night. This amazing pup is also crate trained. He will rest quietly in a crate when needed and even chooses to go in the crate on his own for a break from his foster siblings. He is mostly a quiet boy but will let you know if someone is at the door with a quick bark. Jake is a super happy boy and loves nothing more than a good ear scratch or belly rub while he wags his tail. He even has the cutest "Elvis" smile. Jake needs an active family with a minimum 6-ft. fenced-in yard. We are suggesting if the family has kids, they be older due to his tendency to jump when he is excited. He would love a doggy playmate around his size and energy level. If you live in the central Florida (Orlando) area and think you have the perfect forever home for Jake, we’d love to find out more about you. Please complete our adoption application and we’ll see if you’re Jake’s perfect match.
