My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update:
Carson was returned for not getting along with the current cat. He gets along very well here, but he can be an alpha and might do better in a home where he can be the boss. After all, who doesn’t want to be the boss? He is a stunning black and white boy with excellent manners. He would do well in a lively home as he likes a lot of attention.
He does not have to go home under our Companion Cat Policy. He would do well in a home with submissive (or at least not alpha) cats. He is a wonderful boy.
If you are interested in adopting him, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $200.

Poor Carson was found on the streets in Houston. As soon as we heard that he was out roaming and that he needed a home, we of course jumped in and immediately took him.

This sweet boy is no street cat. He is an awesome, friendly precious boy with oodles of personality. He actually gets along well with other cats once he is properly introduced. He loves attention.

He is about three years old and is a black-and-white Maine coon mix.

He can go to a home with other cats but he does not have to go to a home with other cats.

If you are interested in adopting this amazing boy, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com. His adoption fee is $250. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states. Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
