Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Times come when we have to make different decisions for certain animals in our care. Our policy is usually that animals be adopted to be primarily indoors. This does not mean they can't go outside. They need outside time. It just means they need to be inside, safe and warm in bad weather and with the family at night. Not all animals are suitable candidates for this policy, and one of those is our Griffin.
Griffin, 3 year old American Foxhound, is miserable here in the shelter. He is quiet and makes the best of it, and I feel like he tries to please us by just being. But it's clear that he longs to be outside.
At this point we are looking for a home for Griffin with lots of space outside to wander. This home should have a warm place for him to go into when it is cold or rainy or when he just needs rest. In one of Griffin's previous homes, he was left outside alone for long periods of time, which is something we want to avoid happening again. He actually walked to a neighboring business in the evening, where he slept on their couch at night. That is why he ended up back in our care.
Griffin is good with other dogs. If you have a home that may be suited for our sweet boy, please consider adopting him. This is no life for a soul who longs for the outdoors.
