Chika is a Female, 5 month old puppie (april 2022). She weighs approx 25 lbs. We estimate she will grow to be around 40 lbs just like her mother Marie (Who is also available for adoption. You may find her biography and story here on our website). Chika is fully vaccinated and spayed.
Chika has beautiful brown spots and she has beautiful eyes. She is very energetic and playful and gets along well with other dogs. Although she is a bit timid at first with people but once she gets to know you she is very loving.
Chika needs someone patient that will help her learn how to interact with people. She is not leash trained. She is a bit rough around children. She is not potty trained.
Chika needs a home with a yard. We would suggest not having her alone but with another dog. She is now ready for her forever home.

We take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.
We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.

We have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.

More about this rescue
The greater Tijuana area of 3 million people and thousands of abandoned street animals needs more individuals doing rescues and organizing neighborhood spay events. FHSTJ Does not run a shelter. Instead, it supports grass roots organizations and individual rescuers. This allows us to serve many more animals at any given time, due to this unique system of support. This is accomplished by giving financial support to rescuers and groups which could not function without the generosity of FHSTJ donors.
In summary, we support street rescues, mass spay and neuter clinics, pet owners with extremely limited resources needing veterinary care for their animals as well as public education programs, adoption programs for rescuers, and a pet food distribution program for animals in need.
