This boy came to us as a literal skeleton late in 2021. He had to gain a lot of weight before he could be treated for his heartworm disease and he had so much to overcome when it came to trust and confidence. Zero is finally ready to move on from the rescue and meet his new family!
Zero has not been able to play with other dogs for quite some time, but he was known to be dog friendly prior to us taking custody of him. Due to the severe burden of heartworms, Zero has been activity restricted since he came to us for his safety. He will need to have a slow reintroduction of activity, but he can be a normal energetic husky over time.
He will need a dog experienced home as he does have some behavior setbacks. Due to being on high doses of steroids for a long time, he struggles with house training. With a schedule/routine and some positive experiences we are confident in Zero's abilities. Another of his struggles is that he does have resource guarding when it comes to food and water, we have worked with him on this but he may need the assistance of a professional trainer. He is crate trained and eats in his crate and does wonderfully there.
