My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everybody! My name is Max, and I am a 4.5-year-old neutered male border collie. I was born on 12/13/2017 in Dubuque, Iowa. My foster parents tell me I am a sweet boy and I have been with them since March 18, 2022. I am a little hesitant or cautious at doing new things (new spaces, new places, etc.) at first but with patience, my foster parents and I get through this. My foster parents tell me I am a fast learner and a good listener. I like to play fetch with a tennis ball and spend time with my people. I wear/use a harness to go on walks and my foster parents tell me that I am a good boy on walks on the leash. I do not like loud or sudden noises. I am somewhat protective of my home (space) and my people. I ask that you introduce me slowly to new people and/or dogs coming into my home/space. If necessary, I will need to go into another room until I get comfortable with new people and/or dogs. A physical fenced in yard would be optimal if I get scared and try to run. I am good with children but will take food from them if they are within reach. My foster parents feed me separately, in my kennel so I can eat in peace.
