My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I rescued myself by strolling into Joy Animal Rescue’s shelter and loudly proclaiming my need
of assistance. The great volunteers there saw that I had recently worn a collar and noticed how
sweet and friendly of a guy I was, so they thought for sure that I must’ve just gotten myself lost
from my family. They tried to get me back home to them, with no luck. They assured me that I
would be okay though, because I get to be a Joy cat now and they’re going to find me the very
best furrever home!
I am a very talkative boy that gets along great with the other cats at the shelter, and I am very
affectionate and love to be held and petted by my humans. I am the total package!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract that is filled out by all prospective adopters. We then do a vet check to make sure all animals currently and in the past were kept up on their shots. We then charge an $85 adoption fee for cats. The fees include the spay or neuter. If the pet has not been spayed or neutered prior to going home there is a $50 hold that is returned upon confirmation of the spay or neuter. And a contract is signed with the rescue.

Go meet their pets

Currently we do adoptions out of the Petco located in New Market Square in Wichita Kansas. We currently house cats in their adoption section at the front of the store. We also place pictures on our Facebook page.

More about this rescue

Our group was started to help animals find there forever homes. Most of our animals are in foster homes where they get more attention than in a shelter. Our rescue was started by a group of volunteers that wanted to make a difference in the unwanted pet population.
