Skittles is an 8 year old, spayed female Pittie who came to IL from TN in October 2021. She was terribly emaciated, neglected, and clearly had multiple litters. In addition, Skittles was heartworm positive; she has completed her treatment and is now healthy, looking great, and looking for her furever home!
Skittles is an overall wonderful girl, and loves people once she gets to know them. Initially she is slow to trust new people when she doesn’t have her person around and needs people to respect her boundaries. What that means is she’s good with people/strangers when she’s with her foster mom(although she prefers to seek out attention on her own) but can be very standoffish and wants space until she trusts you, particularly with men.
Skittles would do best in a female home with no children under 12 years old. She gets along with her foster dog sister but is not to sure about cats.
Skittles is:
• potty trained
• great on leash
• medium energy, loves walks and car rides and hanging out in the yard
• crate trained and likes her crate but prefers to sleep with her foster mom and dog sister in the bed.
• photogenic and loves to post for photos!
• Very treat motivated and loves to chew on bones
This adorable senior is so sweet, goofy, loving, and sassy in the best way! She gives the best wiggles, kisses and tippy taps and her greetings after a day of work are the best part of the day!
Skittles is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped.
