Meet Oaky! He is a 64lb yellow Labrador Retriever mix and 3 1/2 years old. He is a friendly dog that is a good fit for an adult, or family with older children. He does well with some dogs but cats are not a good fit. He thoroughly enjoys all the attention of the volunteers and looks forward to outdoor playtime. A home with a large securely fenced-in backyard would be ideal to give him the freedom to run and play. Oaky was an outdoor dog prior to coming into our shelter. He is housebroken but might need a little additional training. He really enjoys the comforts of his climate controlled kennel and does his best to keep it clean. Oaky is the type of dog that is happy just hanging out with you. Submit Application
Go to hsnwga.org to apply for a dog or cat. Once approved you can meet the dog or cat at our shelter and take them home.
2.
Sign Adoption Contract
Our adoption fees for dogs are $275 and up. All are age appropriately vetted and chipped.

During adoption hours we have volunteers available to show dogs and cats to the public. For safety/insurance reasons we can only allow those 12 years or older to go into the dog kennel wing of the shelter. We ask all visitors not to stick their fingers/hands into the dog kennels. Our adoptable dogs and cats are viewable through our website. Everyone interested in applying for a dog or cat must submit an application through our website. We receive multiple applications for each animal. Applications for particular animals are based on best fit for each animal based on each animal’s behaviors and needs. An application not being selected for a particular animal does not necessarily mean the application was denied, but just that another application was approved.
