My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous House Panther was born in May of 2011, in the attic of a home in Sherman Oaks, CA. He and his brothers were only around 4 or 5 weeks-old, at the time. They had fallen through the attic floor and landed behind a wall in the living room! The homeowners ended up cutting an opening in the wall to get them out!

We do know his Mama was a feral, Siamese Snow Shoe (short-haired) and he has some of the classic Sia features.

Although Abbott received the same amount of socialization and play time, as his brothers, he never fully tamed and remained on the shy, scared side.

When it comes to the other male cats, in the house however, Abbott is probably the most popular... always in the center of the attention. All the others love to play, wrestle, cuddle and sleep with Abbott!

This handsome fella is playful, smart, and affectionate with a coat that's shiny like silk. His build is lean and muscular. Abbott can be social around his favorite human (me) and will hop up onto the bed to play with stringy toys. Once he gets going, he plays with complete abandon.

His weakness is freeze-dried Chicken treats and will gently eat them from your finger tips or even your lips. But if he thinks you're going to touch or pick him up he may run. He knows his name and communicates like any other cat - that's connected to a human... except in the areas of touch. Please... won't you give this deserving boy a loving home? He'd make an excellent companion for another friendly, playful, young male (or two). *The video uploaded was shot when he was still a young kitten... but you can see how sweet and gentle he is.

Abbott's adoption will include his:
* Neuter,
* De-worming,
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Rabies vaccination,
* Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative),
* Flea and mite treatment (with Revolution),
* and Micro chipping!

*You can also find his complete rescue story, photo and video updates on our Facebook page: Save The Leadwell Kitties (or type in "2TheResQ" in the search bar).

Please only contact us if you will be making him a permanent members of your family and will be keeping Abbott SAFE INDOORS.

Go meet their pets

All our adoptable pets are featured on Petfinder.com. I also create fun and entertaining videos on each animals, host them on YouTube and post ads on Craigslist; under the Pets section.

It's important to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying/neutering, fostering, and adopting. I also enjoy teaching others how to humanely trap stray and feral cats.

More about this rescue

We are a small, volunteer-based rescue located in the San Fernando Valley focusing, primarily, on cats and kittens. We rescue most of the animals through trapping in our local communities, or pulling from our City and County shelters. Our adoptable pets live with us in our home or in foster homes. Fosters are always needed. Please consider becoming one today?

You can find more photos, videos and updates on all our rescues by visiting us on Facebook at: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (which is a public page). Please feel free to browse through the many photo albums. I believe in transparency and rely on the support of volunteers, donors, and like-minded, rescuers. We also partner with other 501C3 Non profit rescues.

Additionally, we support and practice TNR (Trap, Nueter, Release) of community cats.

One person really CAN make a difference. Join us there and find out how you can help!
