My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Resident since January 2021

Hey There!  They call me Bruce and tell me what a good and beautiful boy I am!  I love to snuggle and be a couch potato. I graduated from a training camp where I spent 10 weeks learning many different commands and losing the many extra pounds I had. I am still a big guy, but now I have a great physique. I am hoping for an active family to help me continue my training.  Because I am a larger dog, it is recommended that my new home has no or older kids.

I DO NOT like cats!! Honestly, I don't understand why a person wants a fuzz ball that wants to be left alone when they could have a super sweet boy like me that wants to play and hang out with you.

I am selective when it comes to other dogs. If there is another dog, it would probably be better to be a large, submissive dog.  It is not that I want to be the boss; I just don't like being bossed around.

So, if you would like to adopt me you know the deal...please fill out the adoption application for me (link is right here on my page).

Note:
Bruce graduated from the Training camp and has learned so much from it to help him become a great addition to your family.

About Training Camp:
Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.

Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).

Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.

We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!

More about this rescue

We are a private, non-profit rescue located in Sanford, Florida, dedicated to the rescue cats and dogs. Many of them come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources.

Our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about:
- proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love
- spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population
- low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in their local community
