My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

This adorable little lovebug is Thelma. Thelma is playful, & gets along well with her 4 foster sisters (including her real sister Louise) & the big cats & ferret in her foster home. If you could be a stay at home parent to Thelma, she would very much appreciate it, especially if you could hold her all day long, maybe see if you could make a career out of it somehow? She also will jump into your arms when given the signal, or she also will give you the signal that she's gonna jump into your arms & , she'll let you know when it's time for you to hold her lol. Sometimes she'll climb onto your shoulders or back & hang out there if you let her, she just loves her human! She can sometimes get into mischief, don't let that adorable, innocent looking face fool you! Thelma would like to go to a furever home with her sister Louise, who has a completely different personality but they really balance each other out, they're both great kitties, who have been in foster since they arrived in September 2021. Thelma is up to date on shots & spayed. All cat & kitten adoption fees are a free will donation for approved applicants

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
