My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are looking for a very special adopter for our little buddy Mac. This 5-6 year old guy had a rough start in life being used as a stud dog in an Amish puppy mill. This history brings with it some unique characteristics and we need to make sure anyone interested in him understands this. He is not your typical fluffy little white dog. He is experiencing being a dog for the first time.

Mac needs the following...
- A home with other friendly dogs
- A home where someone is home most of the time as he has some separation anxiety when left alone for long.
- A family who will be patient with him understanding he has just come out of hell.
- A family who understands that it is going to take time, love, and patience for Mac to adjust to a new home.
- A fenced yard. This is his first taste of freedom and he loves running around the yard. He needs this.

Regarding Mac's anxiety... he does have separation anxiety when people leave him but it has been to a different degree in each of his foster homes. It seems he does better when he has other friendly dogs with him, when he has a fenced yard to run off some energy, and when he isn't alone for a long time.

Adopting a mill survivor is not for everyone but there are people who love the experience. It isn't easy but when you see a new dog emerge it is amazing.

If you feel you have what it takes to offer Mac a great life please go to www.luckydawganimalrescue.com to fill out an application. And please understand we take a long time placing our mill dogs. We put a lot of time and thought into their placement as they deserve everything we can do for them to make their life great!

Please note... you must live within a two hour drive of Avondale to adopt from Lucky Dawg
