My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Brad
Nickname: Bradley. Bradley Cooper. Bradifur. Brad, No!
Breed: Golden Retriever (mix). The pet store he was bought from initially would tell you he's a pure English Cream, but ...who knows; who cares. To us, he's just a purebred doofus.
Age: 1 Year
Sex: Male
Weight: 60 lbs.
Before OMD: Surrendered to the shelter when his family no longer had time for him. Shelter contacted us and was concerned over some potentially subtle neuro symptoms. We went to meet him and watched him gleefully zoom through the yard and knock us all over and not sit still even for a millisecond...thought "oh boy…" and yet his foster was up for the challenge.
Medical deets: Some subtle head tremors have been seen and were noted as unremarkable upon consult with neurologist. The neurologist did not feel further action was needed and did not expect any neurological behaviors to progress.
Energy Level: High
Doppelganger: A blur.
What we love most: He's just so completely happy, and relatively oblivious (think Dug from UP). When he runs so awkwardly and zooms in on his target (aka ball) and pounces like a cat. When you ask him to sit and we swear he so proudly sits and his eyes say "Did I do it right, foster mama!?"
What he loves most: Food. Squeaking all the toys. Playing with his foster sister. Water. Going for walks and hikes. Being brushed. Belly rubs and booty pets.
What he knows: Sit. Lay down. Touch....until a squirrel runs by.
Perks of him being an A+ cuddler: You don’t need blankets. He’s here to help.
Working on: Mouthing and nibbling when excited. Counter-surfing.
Kids: 12+ please. While he reportedly lived with multiple young kids in his first home, he is a bit cray-cray. He is high energy, blissfully unaware of himself and his size, and is still working on manners and boundaries.
Dogs: Loves to play with other dogs, but plays rough and awkwardly. He would do best with larger/sturdy, tolerant, playful dogs.
Cats: Currently lives with 2. He co-exists well and they have allegedly been sighted giving kisses. There have also been plenty of sightings of Tom and Jerry though (read: Brad will chase when cats are on the move) and any cats in Brad's home should be tolerant and dog-savvy.
Crate trained: Yes. Gives a few barks and settles right in.
House trained: Yep

Brad is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. He's available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
