My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Ozzie
Nicknames: Ollie
Breed: Jury is still out on if he's a Yorkie, Silky...Dorky?
Age: 11 months
Weight: 16 lbs.
Sex: Male
Before OMD: Surrendered to the rescue when his family could no longer care for him.
Energy level: Higher. He's still a puppy and most definitely not a couch potato. But the good news is he does crash for naps in between his play sessions.
Descriptors: Active. Fun-loving. Playful. Friendly. Adaptable.
What we love most: His head tilt. The messy cute hair on the top of his head. When he jumps off the couch, superman style.
What he loves most: Long walks. Playing with toys (his Chuck-It ball and grunting Pig most specifically). Treats. Snuggling on the couch. Snow. Playing fetch.
Life Goal: To fit all the toys in his mouth at once
Working on: Mouthing when he’s overly excited. Basic Commands. Leash manners – he does pull when he sees birds and squirrels, and sometimes barks at dogs or joggers passing by.
Apartment friendly: Not so much. He’s very vocal when he sees someone walking past the house or if he hears a noise and thinks someone is coming to the door.
Kids: Sure! Has loved the kids he’s met so far.
Dogs: Yes! Fostered with a female Boxer. He usually rolls over and gives kisses when he meets a new dog. Resident dog(s) should be playful and tolerant as Ozzie wants to play and is oblivious to correction from other dogs when he is annoying them.
Cats: Nope. Much too interested.
House-trained: Working on it. Does best with routine, supervision, and consistency.
Crate-trained: Yes, will bark initially and then settles in.

Ozzie is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org

Additional adoption info

One More Dog Rescue (OMD), formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application and agree to a home visit prior to any adoption. Once the application is approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled between the potential adopter (s) and the dog.

When a dog is adopted through One More Dog, an adoption contract must be signed, and we ask that a donation in the amount of $500 ($350 for seniors) be made at the time of adoption to help our rescue cover a portion of the costs we incur through pull fees, vetting, and training.

Applications can be found here: http://www.omdrescue.org/adoptapp.html
*We will adopt to approved applicants (who are able to meet & adopt in person) who live in CT and the surrounding areas: New England, New York, and New Jersey.
