My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Summer is a shy, sweet girl who takes a while to warm up to people. She was trapped with her siblings in 2021 and has been with us ever since, with one failed adoption before she was a year old. Her shy nature has made it hard for her to get adopted, but she is very sweet and loves attention and cuddles. Her adopter needs to be someone who is patient and willing to work on her terms.

Despite her shyness, Summer is a playful and goofy girl with a big personality once she warms up to you, she loves to play with her plastic spring toys and often walks around the house carrying one and meowing. She has a lot of love to give for a person patient enough to work with her.

Additional adoption info

The very first step in our process is to submit an application! After we review your application we'll contact you to set up a time to come meet the kitty you're interested in. At that interview we'll talk about the cat, your application, and our adoption process. After the interview we send you home so you can make sure you really want to adopt this kitty (its a big decision!) and so we can contact your vet for their reference (no worries if this is your first pet in a while and you dont have a vet to get a reference from!). Once all that comes back, its time to come get your new kitty! We set up another time for you to come pay the adoption fee, sign our agreement, and you take your new fur baby home!

More about this rescue

Hi! My name is Ali and I started The Kitten Wonderland in August of 2018 at 17 years old. I have always loved cats, and my very first cat was from a litter of orphaned bottle babies I helped a family member raise at 11 years old, if you come to visit you will certainly meet her, she loves to steal all the attention.

TKW started because of just one cat. In 2018 I had an friendly black cat who had kittens under our shed, as it turned out, she had been dumped by someone else in the neighborhood when they had to move. I spent so much time outside with her and her kittens, and when she became pregnant again I begged my mom to let me bring her in, and after what felt like ages, she agreed. Midnight had her kittens August 18th 2018, not even two weeks after the creation of the TKW Instagram account, and i quickly got caught up in everything cat rescue and fostering had to give me. I became a dedicated critical care and orphaned neonatal foster, and it has been a wild and fulfilling ride since then.

Originally based in Michigan, we relocated to Bardstown, KY in January of 2020. TKW is a small single person (Hi!) rescue run out of my residential address. If you are interested in any of the kitties we have for adoption and want to learn more, please email me at thekittenwonderland@gmail.com or put in an application at https://thekittenwonderland.paperform.co
