Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cersei is a family dog - she`s lived with a few adults, kids and her big dog friends Poseidon (A761967) and Zeus (A761966). The dogs lost their family due to a hardship that has separated them. They have great home experience and would like to return to family living again just as soon as possible. Cersei knows all the cues like sit, come and stay. She hasn`t met cats yet to form an opinion. She`s shy at first and playful when she gets to know you. She loves her big dog friends who help show her the ropes of life and she`s very playful with them and they let her pretend to corral them - it`s really cute. Let`s help make her stay a short one by finding her next family home.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

Go meet their pets

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
