My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jerzy - is a very sweet senior black cat that is diabetic. He is very good at getting his insulin and is very patient when checking his blood sugar. He loves attention and is very good at being picked up. He would love to be in a home with younger kids and would be happy as long as he got attention. He does get along with other cats, but prefers people. Due to his special needs he needs a family that has diabetes experience or is willing to learn about how to care for Jerzy. With him being a diabetic cat he also needs special food and cannot be free fed.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out and may request a home visit if deemed necessary. Potential adopters are counseled on the special needs that many lab animals have and will work with a staff member to find a good match for their home. All adopters sign an adoption contract, as well, and are encouraged to keep in touch with pictures and stories!

Go meet their pets

Potential adopters are welcome to visit Kindness Ranch and meet the animals by appointment. We sometimes hold adoption events in Cheyenne, WY and Casper, WY.

More about this rescue

The mission of the Kindness Ranch is to provide a sanctuary and place of rehabilitation for animals who have been used in laboratory research.

Staff at Kindness Ranch work to rehabilitate our dogs and cats in a home-like environment. Cats and dogs at the ranch live together with their human caretakers in spacious yurts specially designed to meet their needs. They receive round-the-clock care to help them adjust to their new lives.

The Kindness Ranch also provides foster and adoption programs for all the animals we can rehabilitate. Those who are too debilitated, old or ill to be placed in a loving home can remain on the ranch to live out their days, surrounded by caretakers and volunteers who put the animals’ well-being first.
