Skeeter is an 7 1/2 week old Black and Tan Dachshund-Chihuahua mix who weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces.
It looks like he will favor the Dachshund body with a Chihuahua head. His front paws are adorably wrinkled.
This energetic, fun-loving puppy came to Poke-A-Dot's with their mom as an owner-surrender. Their owner had a significant life changing event and lost her house. She contacted us to help her find her beloved dogs a new forever home.
Skeeter is due for his first puppy shots in a few days and will be ready for adoption in just a few weeks. He is cute as a button and lots of fun. We have enjoyed watching him and his brother over the past 4 weeks and their personalities have developed in slightly different directions. Skeeter is smart; outgoing; quiet; loves to run; and enjoys attacking toes when ever possible. He is already using potty pads with the hit and miss that is expected with a puppy.
Skeeter has teeth and Mamma is did a great job of encouraging him to eat kibble. They are eating kibble and drinking water exclusively now. They will be ready for adoption right after they get their shots.
He loves to chase adult dogs and cats (who are all afraid of him at this point) and is already playing with dog toys.
He had one litter mate: Scooter, who is being listed separately. Scooter is also a dachshund/Chihuahua mix that is brown . I have included Scooter and Momma in the some of the pictures.
Anyone wishing to adopt Skeeter or both of these puppies will have to be ready for the commitment of raising energetic babies to adulthood.
