My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frazier, our resilient companion who's been waiting for over a year and a half to find his forever home.

Frazier, a 6-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing 46 pounds, is a little bundle of energy that can't get enough of his toys! His absolute favorite? Rope toys for endless rounds of tug-of-war. Frazier's enthusiasm extends to his love for walks, and each morning, he's eager to run around and explore the great outdoors. This cuddly and goofy pup has so much love to give, and he can't wait to find that special someone who'll appreciate his unique charm

Despite the challenges, Frazier's heart is full of love, and he's ready to share it with his new best friend. However, Frazier prefers to be the only dog in his forever home due to some nervousness around other dogs. For a peaceful and loving environment, if there are children in his forever home, he's seeking a family with children ages 16 and older.

If Frazier is too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
